“ Great food, and it was a pleasure to dine here with a large group of 10 people. They allowed us to divide by couples and were attentive enough without being too much. We stayed until the place emptied out and weren't rushed out the door. Cocktails & wine topped things off nicely! ”

Recipe from 1691, we haven’t tried it yet but if it’s anything like the food prior it’s going to be the best we ever had. “ Beautiful food in a nice setting. Usually French restaurants are very pretentious but this one is comfortable. We happened to show up on a Wednesday so the mussels were all you can eat. Someone dropped off another table's mussel refill on accident just after we ordered so I started with the blue cheese version. Then I had Parisienne and finally the PBR. All were delicious. The banana in phyllo was something different and very good. Drinks before dinner were good even though the bartender was a bit standoffish. Out back they play a game like bocci which is fun to watch while you wait for a table. ”
“ I had dinner at Rendezvous last night and it was a wonderful experience - a real treat. I'm from Canada and have lived in France, and I found the menu reflected French cuisine well. Our meals were delicious and beautifully presented. Serving sizes were ample without being "too much", do not worry that you will get tiny servings here. Though know that in French dining it is more about flavors and the experience, than a plate overflowing with more mediocre food than you need. I will absolutely go back and enthusiastically recommend this french restaurant to anyone who asks. ”

“ My partner and I visited Asheville from Miami and this was one of the best dining experiences we had in Asheville! The staff were very attentive, caring and friendly from the moment we walked in. The layout of the restaurant was perfect for intimate dinners or big groups with perfect spacing. Now, the food! To die for. The Pate appetizer was delicious and beautifully crafted, the duck was divine and the soup was the perfect side for it. We cannot rave about it enough! I would definitely recommend for locals and people traveling, alike. ”

“ A favorite of ours since they opened. We also enjoyed the chef’s past creations (Bouchon and creperie) but we prefer this atmosphere. Read on for a very detailed review. Atmosphere: The courtyard is delightful; we even joined the petanque club, though we have yet to attend any of the events due to travel schedule. We even sit outside in some of the chillier months, with a blanket wrapped around us to enjoy the fresh air. The interior is equally inviting. Warm and welcoming. There’s a little alcove inside that is perfect for a larger group, and it affords a little privacy. See photo. The food is very good, but the wine is what really sets this place apart. I love when we happen to be served by the sommelier; that way I don’t have to ask to have the sommelier to come out. We’ve had some wonderful bottles here. The wines by the glass are also excellent. They have a couple of sparkling wines that are inexpensive and really quite good l (I recommend the bailly lapierre brut for a good glasses that is only 13). Let’s talk food. Their pate plate provides both the creamy pate and a country pate. It its served with the usual accompaniments, pickles etc. Often with a pate you are offered either a country pate or a creamy pate; this one manages to have both. At a great price of 16! Wow! The only thing that would make it a bit better is if they had a few gelatin cubes. I know there’s a bit of gelatin in the creamy pate, but gelatin cubes, especially flavored with honey etc. would just be a nice touch. I’ve had some Prosecco jelly and other jellies and I think that would be a fun addition. It’s also served with both mustard, dijon and a country mustard. It’s just a wonderful pate plate. Having had pates in lots of countries in the world, this really is an excellent job of a classic pate plate. Other items of note are the mussel special, which is all-you-can-eat one night a week. And if they have the tartare, then it is a must have as well. The pomme frite are good, seasoning and service are classic. I almost forgot, on our last visit, our group of 8 was served by Abby.
